Skilled Visas

Skilled Visas Services

Skilled visas are part of Australia's skilled migration program and operate on a points-based system to determine eligibility. Points are allocated based on factors like age, English proficiency, work experience, educational qualifications, and others.

The Australian work visas include three main types: the Skilled Independent visa (subclass 189), Skilled Nomination visa (subclass 190), and Skilled Work Regional (Provisional) visa (subclass 491). Each visa type caters to different circumstances:

  • Skilled Independent visa (subclass 189): A visa for individuals with skills in demand and seeking permanent residency in Australia, without needing a job offer.
  • Skilled Nomination visa (subclass 190): Designed for those nominated by an Australian state or territory government agency, possessing skills needed in a specific region, and aiming for permanent residency.
  • Skilled Work Regional (Provisional) visa (subclass 491): A points-based visa valid for up to 5 years, providing a pathway to permanent residency for individuals nominated by a state or territory government agency or sponsored by an eligible relative in a designated regional area. After a minimum of 3 years, applicants can apply for the Permanent Residence (Skilled Regional) visa (subclass 191).

To qualify for any of these visas, applicants must meet specific criteria such as being under 45 years old, possessing skills in demand, scoring at least 65 points in the skills assessment, and demonstrating competent English proficiency.
